How to Play

Get ready to chop, sizzle, and bake! In this game, you'll be using your mouse to prepare the ingredients, cook the tortillas, and assemble the quesadillas. You'll even get to carve out spooky faces with your virtual knife!

Ingredients:

For the Dough:
- 1 ¾ cups of flour
- 3 tablespoons of shortening
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder
- ½ cup of warm water
- 1 teaspoon of orange food coloring
- 4 teaspoons of olive oil

For the Filling:
- 3 boneless chicken breast halves
- 2 cups of (low sodium) chicken broth
- 2 bay leaves
- 2-3 whole black peppercorns
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

For Serving:
- Guacamole
- Sour cream
- Pumpkin soup

Instructions:

1. First, let's cook the chicken! Put the chicken in a pot and add the chicken broth, bay leaves, and peppercorns.

2. Bring the broth to a boil for a few minutes over medium heat.

3. Turn the heat down low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 10 minutes until the chicken is cooked.

4. Turn off the heat and leave the chicken in the broth for 15-20 minutes.

5. Take the chicken out and shred it with a fork.

6. Now, let's make the dough! Mix the orange food coloring with the warm water until it's a nice orange color.

7. In a big bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and shortening until it looks like crumbs.

8. Slowly add the orange water and mix until you have a soft dough.

9. Knead the dough for 5 minutes and make it into a ball.

10. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each one out into a flat pumpkin shape.

11. Carefully cut jack-o-lantern faces into 2 of the tortillas. You can use triangles for eyes, a square for the nose, and a crescent for the mouth, or any shapes you like!

12. Heat a frying pan over medium heat.

13. Cook each tortilla in the pan for 2 minutes on each side.

14. Now let's make the quesadillas! Warm 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan over medium heat.

15. Put a tortilla without a face in the pan, sprinkle cheese on top, and then put a tortilla with a face on top of the cheese.

16. Cook until the cheese is melted, about 1 to 2 minutes.

17. Take the quesadilla out and put it on a plate.

18. Make another quesadilla with the other tortillas, but this time use shredded chicken for the filling.

19. Serve the quesadillas with guacamole, sour cream, and pumpkin soup.

Boo-tiful job! Those jack-o'-lantern quesadillas are so clever and delicious. You're ready to host your own Halloween feast! What spooky surprises will you cook up next?
