Ingredients for the Puffs:
- 1 cup of water
- ½ cup of unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 lightly beaten egg
- Strawberry ice cream
Ingredients for the Chocolate Sauce:
- ½ cup of heavy cream
- 4 oz of bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 ½ teaspoons of unsalted butter
Directions:
1. Turn on the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Lightly grease two baking sheets with butter.
3. In a saucepan, mix the water, butter, sugar, and salt and bring it to a boil.
4. Take the pan off the stove and mix in the flour until it's smooth.
5. Put the pan back on the stove and cook on medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
6. Take the pan off the stove again and put the mixture in a bowl.
7. Add the 4 eggs and mix until everything is blended.
8. While the dough is still warm, use a cookie scoop to place mounds of it on the baking sheets.
9. Gently brush the top of each puff with the beaten egg.
10. Put the baking sheets in the oven for 25-28 minutes until the puffs are golden brown.
11. Take the puffs out of the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
12. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
13. Scoop the ice cream onto the sheet, one scoop for each puff.
14. Cover the ice cream with plastic wrap and put it in the freezer.
15. Now, let's make the chocolate sauce! Pour the heavy cream into a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
16. Put the chopped chocolate in a bowl and pour the hot cream over it.
17. Let it sit for 3 minutes, then mix it until it's smooth.
18. Add the butter and mix again.
19. Cut each puff in half.
20. Put a scoop of ice cream on the bottom half of each puff.
21. Put the top half of the puff back on.
22. Drizzle the warm chocolate sauce over the puffs.
23. Serve immediately!
