How to Play

Here's how to control your hero:
- Left/Right arrow keys: Move your commando left or right.
- Down arrow key: Lay down / Climb down
- Z: Jump.
- X: Fire your weapon. 
- V: Choose between 1-player or 2-player mode. When the game is over, you can use this button to select CONTINUE or END. 
- Enter: Start / Pause / Resume the game.

The game has eight exciting levels for you to explore, each with its own unique challenges and enemies. You'll travel through jungles, enemy bases, waterfalls, snowfields, energy zones, and even the alien's lair! You'll need to be quick and agile to avoid all the dangers, like enemy soldiers, automated turrets, and those tricky energy fields.

To help you on your mission, you can collect awesome power-ups! These power-ups will give you stronger weapons, like the Laser or the Spread Gun, and even special abilities like the Force Field that protects you from damage. You can find these power-ups by destroying flying capsules and pillbox sensors.

You can play the game alone as Bill Rizer(code name Mad Dog), or with a friend as Lance Bean(code name Scorpion). If you play with a friend, you can work together to defeat the enemies and reach the end of the game. It's like having a partner in crime, but instead of doing crime, you're saving the world!

What Else You Should Know

Two of the levels in Contra are extra special because they have a 3D view! In these levels, you can move your commando around and aim your weapon in different directions. It's like stepping into another dimension!
